Double glazing repair services for uPVC and aluminium windows, doors and conservatories

Awares Repairs began trading in 2003 and have served many individuals and businesses alike ever since. Located in Worthing, West Sussex we are a family-run business with many years experience within the double glazing industry repairing uPVC & aluminium windows, doors & conservatories.

Our company policy is to repair wherever and whatever is necessary, and we are unique in that we always look for the most economical option for our customers, but with the view to providing a full repair. For example, a window or door may simply need adjusting/ lubricating or small parts replaced (i.e. springs in door locks, not the whole multi-point lock) in order for the job to be completed to our customer’s satisfaction.

We repair/replace locks, hinges, handles, barrels, glass units, gaskets, seals etc as standard. We specialise in what others don’t want to touch, in particular discontinued door locks, tilt & turn windows, vertical sliders and bifold doors.

We pride ourselves on offering a professional service which is friendly, efficient and competitive, thus ensuring we continue to build on our good reputation. If you’ve been told it can’t be repaired, we’re betting it can and you’re welcome to call the office for some advice. We’d be happy to arrange a FREE consultation at our earliest opportunity.

Meet the Team

Family-ran business

Mark Ware

Started working in the double glazing industry in 1987 installing & manufacturing uPVC & aluminium windows & doors, then onto bespoke conservatory roofs, becoming Factory foreman in all areas. Having reached the highest level of manufacturing expertise he decided to start Awares Repairs with his wife, Michelle back in 2003. They haven’t looked back since…

Michelle & Shannon Ware

Michelle started working in the industry in 1990 gaining knowledge across a spectrum of areas and soon spotted a niche market in the repairs sector. It took a while but eventually convinced Mark to start Awares Repairs. Whilst Mark was carrying out all the different repairs, Michelle took care of all their customers’ needs. Due to their continued success & demand, Shannon (their daughter-in-law) joined the team and has proven to be a wonderful asset maintaining the friendly, high quality & efficient service customers deserve.

Jack, Charlie & Harvey Ware

The sons of Mark & Michelle who have come into the family business. They have fully embraced the ethos of the Company; friendly, reliable, honest & hardworking. Their knowledge is beyond their years & they must have clearly listened to their father talk about windows & doors over the years! They have proven to be true assets to Awares Repairs being able to repair all that Mark can (and more…) ensuring the years ahead. Customers are delighted to have them work within their homes… a true family run business.

Frequently Asked Questions

A. No. We can modify practically any mechanism onto a window &/or door where existing parts are now discontinued. The only problems seem to occur in modifying are on tilt & turns/slides & bifold doors, however quite often we can repair existing parts. If all else fails for a tilt & turn window, we can modify all new gearing thus ensuring it fully works, just as it should.
A. No. Sealed units are classed as purely cosmetic and therefore won’t affect your window operating effectively in any way, shape or form. It just looks unsightly and will continue to worsen over time. If it’s not bothering you then there is no dire need to replace it.
The double glazing industry has come on leaps and bounds over the years and there are things one can do to help. Good ventilation is always good but still doesn’t eliminate the problem. The best advice we can offer is to change your existing glass sealed units with A Rated ones. Please enquire for more detailed information on how this phenomenon occurs and how the upgraded units help stop the cold transferring across to the inner pane thus causing condensation.
The vast majority of the time when someone reports this the problem isn’t with the lock or handle, it’s usually because the door has dropped out of alignment. If we rectify the fault quickly with some adjustments the problem can be overcome easily, however if the door is left to operate with difficulty, ie getting the locking points into the frame, it will take its toll. The likely outcome will then be a new lock and possibly a new handle, depending on the circumstances; how long it’s been left and if the lock is now a discontinued item.
